Fortunately, I went to college about an hour 1/2 away in the Soo, Michigan. The great thing was that you could ski inexpensively in offtimes for next to nothing. The hills are great, too. I must say that I was impressed. It's a bit like travelling back in time (just a little) to ski resorts of yore. There are no high-speed lifts, but there's also no lift lines!
